As part of our commitment to excellence, Michell & Cía. has provided training to affiliated breeders and other farms to help them obtain their RAS (Responsible Alpaca Standard) certifications.
With over 600 farms trained, we are raising quality and sustainability standards across the alpaca industry.
These efforts promote best practices in responsible alpaca breeding and management, improving quality throughout the supply chain.
Achieving RAS certification has been the result of a joint effort, involving more than 150,000 alpacas from breeders in the Puno, Cusco, and Arequipa regions.
This chain-of-custody system ensures that alpaca fiber produced in the Andes meets the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental management.
Additionally, Michell & Cía. has increased breeders' profits by 17%, offering preferential pricing and promoting more sustainable practices.
